I think we all have to agree that nothing beats a good Girls Night Out. I love going out with the girls, catching up and having lots of fun, but I think one of my favourite parts of a night out is choosing an outfit!

Sometimes it can be a bit daunting trying to choose an outfit, as there are so many options and styles, so today I have decided to round up some of my favourite pieces at the moment.

So sit back, relax, and happy browsing 😜

Bare Minerals Bare Pro Foundation Review

I have struggled for quite a while to find a foundation that suits my oily/combination skin. I used to use Charlotte Tilbury's 'Light Wonder' foundation as it was light-weight, but buildable, however it never sat right on my skin. I would need lots of powder and still noticed it would be slipping off my face during the day.

Now that's not to say it's a 'bad' foundation, I have heard of lots of people rave about it, however it just didn't suit my skin type.

So one or two months ago I decided to have a look online at a few reviews of different foundations for oily skin, and this one from Bare Minerals seemed to pop up quite a bit. I then went into Brown Thomas to have a look and speak to the sales assistant at the Bare Minerals stand, who was very helpful.

She spoke to me about my skin type and what I was looking for in a foundation, then helped me find my ideal shade.

I have to say I've been loving it ever since. It sits perfectly on my skin, and is quite matte so I don't need any powder and it stays put for the day. It is quite light-weight too so suitable for daytime, however you can build it up to a higher coverage for nighttime.

I also like the fact that it has SPF20 in it for protection during the day, but it doesn't give flashback in photos, which I like.

I don't think this would suit you if you have dry skin, as it could be too matte and drying for you, but definitely if you have oily skin and are in the market for a new foundation, try out a tester of this and see what you think!

I hope you enjoyed this post! See you next time,

My Current Favourite Lip Combo

I have been loving nudey-pink lips recently, especially for the summer. And as well as that, I have been loving glossy looking lips.

I am kind of steering away from mattes lately, just because I'm preferring a glossier finish.

If you have been following me for a while now, you know by now that I am a Charlotte Tilbury addict. From eyeshadows to lips, I am obsessed.

My current favourite combo is one of her most recently released colours, 'The Duchess', partnered with 'Sweet Stiletto' lip lustre. I love these lipglosses because they're not sticky at all and they're quite moisturising too.

I love wearing these two together, and sometimes I use 'Pillow Talk' lip liner with them too. When pairing these two products together, it creates such a flattering look.

What is your favourite shade recently?

My Top 3 Highlighters

Who doesn't love a good highlight? In the makeup world today, highlight seems to be the most hyped product, and brands are releasing new ones almost every day!

I used to prefer cream or liquid highlighters before, but nowadays I prefer powder, just because it lasts longer on me as I have quite oily skin.

I have 3 favourite highlights, one suitable to each occasion.

First up is Anastasia Beverley Hills Amrezy Highlight. This highlight is one of the most intense I have ever come across. You literally only need the tiniest amount on your brush and you will be glowing to the Gods.

I personally wouldn't use this on a day-to-day basis as it is way too intense for me, but I would use it for a night out. It looks unreal in pictures too!

Next up is Mary Lou Manizer by The Balm. This is another intense highlight, but not as intense as the Anastasia Beverley Hills one. I like to use this for occasions such as going for dinner etc. as it is still glam, but not as full-on as if you were going to a party.

Finally, my third favourite is Charlotte Tilbury's Filmstar Bronze and Glow palette. I use this on a daily basis when I am doing my every day makeup. It leaves a subtly glow, perfect for daytime, however it is also quite buildable.

So that's my top 3! I hope you enjoyed and I'll be back soon with another post!

Charlotte Tilbury 'Eyes to Mesmerise' Review

Charlotte Tilbury's Eyes to Mesmerise eyeshadow pots are my go-to products when I want to do a quick and simple makeup look.

They are the perfect consistency to swipe across the lid and go, and also leave a beautiful sheen on the lid to add dimension. I like to apply these with my ring finger as I feel it gives the best colour payoff, but it's also extremely quick and easy to do!

They are gorgeous used on their own to create a subtle and simple eye look, however, when I got my makeup done in Charlotte Tilbury in Brown Thomas recently, I learned that you can actually use them as a base for your eyeshadow too! Who doesn't love a good 2-in-1 product?!

The newest addition to my collection is 'Marie Antionette', which is a beautiful oyster-gold shade, and certainly my new favourite. It looks stunning on all eye colours and really makes them pop.

Next up is 'Bette, which is another gold shade, but more amber toned. Again, this looks good on all eye colours and really draws attention to the eyes, even used just by itself.

Last up is 'Mona Lisa', a gorgeous chocolately-bronze colour. Unlike the previous two, this is a much deeper colour, and absolutely stunning when creating a smoky look.

Each of these colours applies the same and each are very pigmented. I find the best way to apply these is to create a thin layer on the lid with your ring finger, leave to dry, and then apply a second thin layer if you need to build them up, however, you would not need any more than two coats. Make sure to leave each coat dry before applying the next to prevent creasing.

These shadows give such a beautiful finish, leaving a kind of foil look on the lid.

They retail at €26...pricey, I know...but I do think they're worth it for the payoff you will get.

Let me know if you have tried any from the range yet!

Luna by Lisa - Miracle Hair Treatment Review

Welcome back! Today I'm back with a short, but much wanted post, all about the Miracle Hair Treatment from Luna by Lisa Jordan.

Lisa Jordan is one of my fave bloggers- she is so real and down-to-earth, and so driven with her brand. I had heard a lot of good things about this hair treatment, so I decided to hop onto the bandwagon and give it a go.

I have very thin hair, but it can get very tangled and knotty due to the fact that I have blonde highlights, so it can be a bit of a pain to brush through after a shower, however this has changed the ball game.

I'm never too impressed by hair care products, as I find they're all very similar and don't do much for me. However, I am OBSESSED with this! I cannot brush my hair without it.

This conditioning treatment has 12 benefits:

  1. UVA & UVB Protection
  2. Sulphate & Paraben Free
  3. Helps repair dry and damaged hair
  4. Nourishes and protects for radiant shine
  5. Delivers soft, silky, more manageable results
  6. Contains colour protection complex
  7. Acts as an incredible detangler
  8. Aids in the prevention of static
  9. Conditions both natural & synthetic hair
  10. Smooths split ends and controls frizz
  11. Non sticky application
  12. Contains vitamins, amino acids and antioxidants that can help promote healthy hair

I like to spray this in my hair when it's damp after a shower and then brush through with my tangle teaser. It acts as a really good detangler and also leaves my hair so soft when I blowdry it, and leaves my hair really shiny.

You can also spray this into your hair and leave it dry naturally, as there is no need to rinse it out.

Also, as it has UVA and UVB protection, it can act as a protectant from the sun when on holidays. I was lost without this on holidays because I only brought carry-on luggage, so I couldn't bring it, but my hair thanked me when I started using it again once I came home. I honestly saw a huge difference.

For €16, I really think it is worth the price. I have been using it for a good while now, and still have loads left as it lasts so long, and you don't need to use too much of it. It is definitely worth the price.

Have you tried this yet? Are there any other hair treatments/detanglers I should try?

Thanks for reading!

See you next time,

My Mac Lipstick Collection 2018

I'm finally back with the blog posts! It has been a long long while since I posted anything because I was so busy with school and exams, but now that I'm finished, I will have a lot more time to post on here!

Also, I decided my blog needed a little bit of TLC, so I updated the design and template with thanks to pipdig! I couldn't be happier with it...what do you think?

As my first post back, I thought the 'My Mac Lipstick Collection' post would be suitable, as it seems to be one of the post popular posts out there, and for some strange reason, I never ever did it before...so here you go!

To be completely honest, I sort of turned away from using my Macs for a good while due to my Charlotte Tilbury obsession, but when I looked through them again recently to do this blog post, I now realise I was mad not to use them as I have such lovely colours.

As you can probably tell, I used to adore pink colours when I went through my Mac phase, so there will be a lot of bright colours in this post! 😂

First of all, how unreal is the lipstick packaging? The famous black bullet is so classy and chic, and looks so expensive.

I have a range of different formulas, but I feel they all still apply very well, and the mattes aren't too drying which is always a plus.

Mac lipsticks are €20 and are available at Brown Thomas in Ireland, but you can also order online from Brown Thomas here.

So let's just get into the collection so that you can see the different colours and swatches.

Left to Right:
Lickable, Impassioned, Girl About Town

Left to Right:
Viva Glam-Miley Cyrus, Chatterbox, Hot Gossip

Left to Right:
Goodbye Kiss, Costa Chic, Be Fabulous

Left to Right:
Honey Love, Lush Life, D for Danger

Left to Right:
Viva Glam-Cyndi, Up the Amp

So that's my collection! My favourite is definitely Costa Chic as it is so pretty during summer and so flattering! I also love Honey Love too because it is the perfect nude colour.

What is your favourite Mac lipstick?

Don't forget to follow me on Instagram @nailitbyciara too for regular updates on when I post, and for extra pictures that I don't post here!

Thank you so much for reading and I really hope you like the new layout. Come back soon for more posts, as they will be much more regular from now on.

Lots of love,
