Hi everyone! Today I have something a bit different than usual...a review! I'm thinking of doing these more often.
So one of my favourite bloggers, SoSueMe, has recently come out with a nail varnish collection! She is also Irish , who blogs about anything from fashion and makeup to lifestyle. I met her a few months ago when she was doing a meet-up in Easons for her book launch and she was so lovely! When she announced that she would be coming out with her collection, I got so excited and when they were released, I went out to buy them straight away.
First of all, the bottle is beautiful! I love the logo because it's so classy and I love the rose gold lid.
I am also very fussy when it comes to the actual brush applicator. I really don't like when the brush is too thin as it makes it harder to apply the nail varnish evenly, but this brush is the perfect size. It is the perfect length and the perfect width for an easy application.
Now onto the actual nail varnish. These polishes are so pigmented that you would only need one coat for most of them, even though I still used two.
They leave a beautiful shine giving that gel effect to your nails.
I didn't use a base or top coat when I was trying these out, because I just wanted to test specifically the nail varnish by itself, and I have to say I was surprised by the results.
Usually, if I don't use a base or top coat, my nail varnish will last around 2 to 3 days, but this nail varnish lasted 4 days without chipping. On the fourth day, a tiny chip was at the top of my index finger. On the fifth day, it chipped on my thumb, but I have to say I was surprised it lasted so long considering it lasted through showers, washing my hands and just general day-to-day things.
There is also a base and top coat in the collection, which will obviously make your nails last even longer and give even more shine. The base coat evens out any ridges on your nails so that the nail varnish lasts longer, and the top coat seals in the colour.
Overall, I was really pleased with the quality of these polishes and will definitely be adding to the ones I bought which are shown above.
